What is Abdominoplasty?abdominal pain

Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that is better known as a “tummy tuck.” The procedure involves removing excess fat from the abdominal region and then “tucking” the skin back into place to reveal a flatter more well-defied stomach. The fat may have to be removed from bulges on the side of the stomach and the front around the belly button. The doctor makes a careful incision near the bikini line, tightens the muscles and then proceeds to remove excess fat tissue. The incision is then sutured closed to start the healing process. The procedure commonly takes anywhere between two and five hours depending on the amount of fat that needs to be removed. Patients are advised to begin walking around again soon after the procedure as a part of the healing process, which can take about a month. Here are some before & after photos of the procedure.
